who supports us tab thumbLaunched with financial support from a small group of independent Arab journalists, Free Arabs is—and vows to remain—totally independent of any government or political party, group or institution. Free Arabs launched with financial support from a small group of independent Arab journalists—and without support from any government or political group. Free Arabs is—and vows to remain—totally independent of any government, political party, group or institution. Free Arabs does not—and will not—pursue any other agenda than the one expressed in its editorial line.

The project grew out of a network of creative next-generation Arab activists facilitated by the American Islamic Congress, backed by a small grant from the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee.

The first formal editorial gathering occurred on the sidelines of the Oslo Freedom Forum, with the logistical assistance of the liberal Norwegian think-tank Civita.

Grateful for the help of these institutions and other contributors, Free Arabs, Inc. is an independent initiative solely responsible for the site's content and editorial line. (Back to homepage)
